Tips From The Top

This week, Arts/Film producer and founder of the Canary Wharf Film Festival (www.cwff.org.uk), Olivia Bellas shares her top tips on handling the uncertainties surrounding launching your own start-up…

1. BE CURIOUS

Producing varied projects usually means you have fingers in many pies and happy to explore what's new and who's interesting.  All the creative ideas will start flowing before you know it.

2. TEST IT OUT

I generally find myself working on projects I've never done before so it's difficult to predict the outcome.

Run trial versions, hold focus groups, get as much feedback before you plunge into the big one.

3. PRIORITISE

Yes, there really are a million things to do in life but for your own piece of mind as well as gaining respect professionally - work out what's most important to tackle and when. Rather than juggling and consequently, struggling.
